SLCC'S LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students communicate effectively I learned in my English 1010 class how to use communicate my voice through my writing. Using rhetorical strategies I explain how Police Administration must make some changed before we see a decrease in police brutality. Students develop quantitative literacies necessary for their chosen field of study As I studied Business 1050 I started to full understand how history played a big part in the business world. Who knew that the Fall of Rome would help me understand our economy and markets more. Students think critically and creatively In my Film class my professor asked us to watch a series of films and write down how scenes could have protrayed the plot better. This was very difficult for me, simply because I don't sit down and critically watching It was a creative way to really help me think more outside of the box. Students develop civic literacy and the capacity to be community-engaged learners who act in mutually beneficial ways with community partners. In the Leadership Course I took I had the opportunity to reach out to community partners and learn of more ways to collaborate with them in SLCC events. Such a memorable experience I will never forget. Students develop the knowledge and skills to work with others in a professional and constructive manner. As the Vice Presient to Clubs and Organizations I have had to tasks and responsibilites that have developed and helped me grow as a leader. An example would be chairing our ICC meetings. One must be knowledable of the Club manuel and have the ability to work with others professionally and timely. Students develop computer and information literacy. CSIS 1010 Computer Essentials class has taught me so much about the computer I work off daily. As technology continues to develop, I understand the high demand of being computer iliterate. Students develop the attitudes and skills for lifelong wellness. Jogging class was so much fun and by far one of my favorite classes to this date! I learned that health and wellness doesn't have to be boring, if you make things fun you're more than likely to make it a life-time style. |
